Conference for stock photographers May 16, 2012 in London, England

The CEPIC (Coordination of European Picture Agencies Stock, Press and Heritage) and ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers ) are holding a day long conference for stock photographers that will address the changing roles of content creators and distributors in the current digital age. Highlights include the technological, cultural and legal factors affecting the creation, distribution and monetization of visual content today and in the future.

With the internet changing daily and new privacy laws that have forced Google and other internet companies to provide full disclosure to users, it is not surprising to see other organizations that deal with digital based information looking at their business. Digital photography provides most content for the internet and photographers that provide that content do need to stay up to speed on changes.

The conference is part of the CEPIC Congress and will be held in London’s Old Truman Brewery. The one day affair is intended to bring photographers and distributors together to openly discuss and look at where the stock industry is today, where it’s going and how people on both sides of the table can partner more effectively.

The day will prove to be an interesting and productive discussion as stock photography looks further into what can be done in the industry. Jonathan Torgovnik will be the keynote speaker and start the discussions for the day.
