It is with great sadness that the team at Stock Photo Secrets informs today about the passing of Scott Braut. An Adobe executive and long-time expert in visual content, online business and media licensing, Scott was a valuable and friendly colleague and a great guy, who collaborated with me and the team more than once over the years. He was only 46 years old.
Our thoughts and condolences go to his family, friends and co-workers at Adobe.
Scott Braut's Career
You might know him as the Head of Content at Adobe, a position he held since 2015. Previous to that, he served as VP of Content at Shutterstock for 5 years, and his work in product development, visual content and stock media goes back 20 years, having worked in companies like ABC News, Corbis and Associated Press.
This accomplished resume reflects the body of work of a consummated professional who helped develop some of the leading stock photo services of today.
My Experience Working with Scott
Being part of the stock media industry myself, I had the pleasure of collaborating with Scott on various occasions. He was a very nice guy, very knowledgeable too.
He was one of our speakers at the last Microstock Expo, where he participated in a fantastic on-stage interview along with Yuri Arcurs and Bruce Livingstone.
A couple years later, when he was appointed as Head of Content over at Adobe, he generously did an interview with me for all of you at Stock Photo Secrets where he shared his then-upcoming plans for Adobe Stock and a lot of insights on the stock media industry at the time.
I always had a great time working with Scott. We got along, we had fun, and his perspective and experience in this industry were invaluable.
I speak for me and the whole team at Stock Photo Secrets when I say that we are very sorry to hear about his passing at such an early age.
We will miss him.
Scott was a true believer in the power of visual media to change perception and influence. His passion and knowledge of every aspect of photography truly amazed anyone lucky enough to have spent time with him. He will be missed by all of us.
