Top stock photo agency Shutterstock announced today that they're expanding their long-standing collaboration with the tech conglomerate Meta by providing legally-safe datasets for Meta to train new AI capabilities.

This expanding partnership reflects both companies' commitment to AI innovation in a joint effort to put them at the forefront of developments in the space.

According to the announcement, Meta will take advantage of Shutterstock's extensive media catalogs to use as datasets to develop, train, and evaluate new machine-learning capabilities, aiming for tools that are not only technically accurate but also more transparent, ethical, and legally safe.

One clear thing is that Shutterstock is very serious about its involvement in AI developments for creative uses. The company is pursuing its goals at vertiginous speed and with powerful strategic moves like this.
